Here is an update of our activities and plans since the last report.  We had no major construction activity this year, but we did give close attention to the buildings and grounds.

1.         Grounds.         The grounds and plantings have never been in better shape.  Intelligent tree pruning and the addition of ground cover and flowering shrubs have enhanced our appearance. We welcome hibiscus back to the Lakeside pool area, and we thank Anne Norris, Eddy Keifert and Joe DiPhillips for their continued husbandry.

2.         Signage.          Speaking of thanks, a special bow to Sheri Kraske for her beautiful restoration of the Lakeside entry sign.

Also, a number of new signs have been posted in response to comments at our February “non-meeting,” and old signs were replaced, so that we have a uniform color and style throughout the grounds (except for the shed interiors, where the problem required a more eye-catching design).

3.         Spalling.         Mathers Engineering has completed its inspection, and we expect a report shortly.  As was the case last year, we think that most affected areas can be treated without major work.  Owners of units that require more extensive treatment will be notified.

4.         West Grill.      New furniture has been installed at the west grill, and we now have a uniform color and style scheme throughout Lakeside.

5.         Leaks.  A number of roof leaks developed in the past few months.  All have been, or are being, fixed.

6.         Gambusia.      In May, 10,000 Gambia will swim in our ponds and reduce the midge infestation.

7.         Stairs and Decks.       This summer, as weather permits, we will continue our practice of power washing and painting a number of staircases and decks.
