Lakeside Pool Seawall and Pool Deck update:

Backfilling  was completed and a new pool overflow pipe has been installed for the new pool seawall.  Deck framing started on September 5th.

Ault Electric was called to repair the power feed to the electrical outlet at the gazebo while there is  easy access to the wiring. Daniels Fence Company will come to verify the attachment points for their fencing. The deck boards should be delivered next week and they will finish the deck.  Superior Pool will partially drain the pool next week and fix the underwater lights.

Photos of the construction can be viewed in the Photo Gallery

LAKESIDE ACTIVITIES AND PLANS SINCE LAST REPORT

Posted by jml710 on May 23, 2014 at 3:05 PM Comments comments (0)

May 22, 2014

Here is an update of our activities and plans since the last report.

This is a summary.  The detailed information can be found in the member section of the website ( you must log in as a member).

1. Construction and Appearance.   Because of erosion of the lake embankment, we will have to install a sea wall under the pool deck and along part of the shoreline north of the deck. This will require removing the boards on the pool deck and installing new boards. Fortunately, the gazebo will not be affected. The pool will remain open during construction, although the deck area will be closed.

2. Spalling repair

3. Special Assessment. There will be a special meeting of the Board on May 22, 2014 to consider a special assessment.

4. Pool Security. A Medco lock will be installed at each gate to the pool. Unit owners will be given two keys, each of which will open both locks. A more detailed explanation will be distributed in due course.

5. Rental Documentation. A form will be prepared to notify the Board of all rental agreements in order to help insure compliance with our Rules and to insure that only owners and their guests and tenants use our facilities.

6. Painting of Steps and Walk. As you know, some of the steps and walk ways in Buildings A and B have become seriously discolored. We will experiment with a different method of paint adhesion on units 5600 and 5598. If successful, we will apply the method to the other areas. If not, we will have to consider other remedies, including a change in color.

7. Roof Repair. We were pleased that the repairs to roofs and walls during the painting two years ago appear to have eliminated most leak problems. After the 12 inch rain in February, repairs were necessary to only two units.

8. Cast Iron Pipes. This summer, we will continue our program of inspecting all units to determine if replacement of cast iron pipes and/or hot water heaters is advisable.

Enjoy your summer. I look forward to seeing you in the fall.
